Supply & Demand Planner
Purpose of role:
The planner is responsible for executing the demand (30%) and supply planning (70%) strategy that delivers the lowest landed cost, reduces excess, achieves target service levels, and maximises internal and external customer satisfaction, through world class service.
Main responsibilities:
- Assist in developing a monthly forecast utilising SlimStock.
- Engage with Sales, Marketing & Engineering to obtain information on promotions, pipeline projects, and new product launches.
- Build strong relationships with EM suppliers and freight forwarders, ensuring a continuous long-term partnership in the sourcing of finished goods, components, and services.
- Oversee all purchase orders, adjust purchase patterns, and monitor shipments to maximise service level while minimising landed cost.
- Evaluate vendor & freight forwarder performance to ensure lowest cost, highest quality, and timely deliveries.
- Proactively minimise out of stocks and improve service levels.
- Ensure robust processes are in place to proactively minimise out of stocks and improve service levels and speedily update promise dates in NetSuite.
- Maintaining procurement relevant item master data and pricing in NetSuite/SlimStock.
- Ensure shipments are promptly and accurately uploaded to NetSuite.
- Maximise customer service levels and reduce excess stock.
- Identify stock risks and take appropriate action.
- Co-ordinate with Finance Department for inventory valuations and purchases.
- Work closely with Central Warehouse on updates concerning inbound shipments.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts, i.e. Plan, Source, Make, Deliver and Return.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive and a team player.
- Continuously look for improvement opportunities.
- Critical thinking skills to identify where analysis is required & then do it.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, pressurised environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office with strong experience in Excel (Advanced) and PowerPoint (Basic).
- Excellent communication skills - both formal & informal.
- Ability to communicate within all levels of an organisation.
- Support all customs compliance initiatives and competencies, which include the areas of customs entry operations, clearing agent management, classification, valuation, trade programs and agreements.
- Negotiating skills.
- Experience in working with a large catalogue > 15k-products.
- Solid international import freight forwarding & clearing experience for a large company.
Beneficial requirements:
- Netsuite/ERP knowledge
