Role Summary:

The Junior Project Engineer will provide hands-on engineering support to customers in the automation and mechatronics field. The role requires a suitable technical or engineering qualification and a minimum of 3-5 years of field experience working on projects related to electrical and control systems in the water and wastewater sector. The position involves long-term secondments of 6 months at a time to various customer sites throughout the SADC region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site engineering support for automation and mechatronics projects.
  
• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and control systems for water and wastewater projects.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide effective solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure project compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation and control systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including reports, manuals, and project updates.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in project engineering, specifically in electrical and control systems for water and wastewater projects
• Strong technical knowledge in automation and mechatronics.
• Proficiency in electrical and control system design and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel and work on long-term secondments (6 months at a time) within the SADC region.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
