Head of Training
Role Summary:
The Head of Training is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing comprehensive technical and product training programs for both customers and employees. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with the organisation's goals, improve product knowledge, enhance technical competency, and support customer success. The Head of Training will work collaboratively with internal teams to identify training needs, develop training materials, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to drive business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the organisation's training strategy for technical and product-related knowledge.
- Align training programs with business objectives and industry trends.
- Create, implement and manage technical and product training modules for employees and customers.
- Use diverse training methods, including e-learning, workshops, webinars, and in-person sessions.
- Ensure training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the company’s products and services.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturers, marketing and product teams to develop training that enhances customer product adoption and satisfaction.
- Regularly gather customer feedback to refine training offerings.
- Work with HR and departmental heads to design onboarding and continuous learning programs for employees.
- Focus on improving technical knowledge and operational efficiency.
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Continuously improve programs based on feedback, industry changes and emerging technologies.
- Ensure training programs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation for customers and employees.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in training and development, with a focus on technical or product training.
- Proven experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for various employee levels.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training outcomes and ROI.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite / G Suite.
Beneficial Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Business Management or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in training and development. Experience in a technical or engineering-focused industry.
- Familiarity with data-driven training assessments and performance tracking tools.
