Business Analyst
Role Summary:
The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the Programme Manager by analysing business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending solutions that deliver value to the organisation. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels. The Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately gathered, documented, and translated into actionable insights that support project delivery. This role involves managing end-to-end business requirements, driving process improvements, and bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The Business Analyst will also play a critical role in delivering complex projects, overseeing and participating in testing, and ensuring high-quality solutions are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current processes, propose improvements, and support the implementation of new processes or tools.
- Analyse and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to inform business decisions.
- Act as a liaison between the business units, technology teams, and support teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare clear and detailed documentation of business requirements, process flows, and other relevant documents to ensure that they are easily understood by all stakeholders.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing test plans, and test cases, and overseeing test execution.
- Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, including assisting in project planning, monitoring progress, and reporting to the Programme Manager.
- Support the organisation in managing change by identifying the impact of changes on processes and systems and providing training and documentation to affected teams.
- Develop project roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables for business-critical initiatives.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure stakeholders are aligned and engaged.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of National Senior Certificate NQF 4 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role.
- Proficiency in business analysis techniques, such as SWOT analysis, process mapping, and requirements gathering.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Project management and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) / Google Workspace tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Leadership skills with the ability to drive initiatives and manage change.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and presentation abilities.
- Adaptability and resilience to manage projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proven experience in managing medium to large-scale projects, driving process improvements, and delivering system implementations.
Beneficial Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in the industry or sector relevant to the organisation
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Certification (e.g Lean Six Sigma or Product owner) will be advantageous.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Understanding of ERP systems or other enterprise-level software.
